NeighborWorks America...
where our work reflects our values.
Environment
NeighborWorks America offers a diverse, stimulating,
challenging and results-oriented environment in which to work.
Its 260 staff members are dedicated to the corporation's mission
of reversing decline in America's neighborhoods, strengthening
communities, building sustainable partnerships and increasing
the supply of safe, affordable housing. We do this by working
with the more than 230 NeighborWorks organizations comprising
our network of local nonprofits.
Like the local NeighborWorks organizations we serve, we place
a high value on teamwork, ingenuity, collaboration, mutual respect,
and personal and professional development.
The corporation's structure contributes to its staffs ability
to work efficiently and cooperatively. Its field operations function
is located in nine district offices, each with an assigned geographical
area. Our internal management consultants have a deep and intimate
knowledge of the local NeighborWorks organizations served by their
offices. In addition, they cross these geographical boundaries
by working with staff members from other corporate divisions in
practice groups focused on a specific area (e.g., multifamily
housing or resource development).
Through the corporation's administrative offices in Washington,
D.C., staff is able to educate members of Congress and others
about the importance and success of its work. The headquarters
office is the home base for the executive services, finance, training,
human resources, information technology, development and communications,
and other key, corporate functions.
The benefits of working in an ever-changing atmosphere with other
creative, talented professionals have attracted, and retained,
our high-quality staff. A diverse workforce that places a premium
on respect and cooperation offers a valuable environment for many
in the community development field.
